Leadership Alliance vs. standard hiring practices

Challenge

Leadership Alliance wanted to demonstrate that pre-employment assessments outperformed standard hiring practices. While it has been well documented, through years of research, that standard hiring practices are no better than a coin toss (a 50/50 chance of choosing the right candidate), Leadership Alliance wanted to learn how their process stacked up.

Process

• We conducted a research study that analyzed the job performance of more than 100 employees of a Leadership Alliance client company.
• As candidates, these employees had undergone pre-employment assessments by Leadership Alliance and had been recommended for their positions.
• After at least one year on the job, they were given performance ratings by the client.

Results

• 94% of the employees Leadership Alliance recommended performed successfully on the job. They fulfilled or exceeded the requirements of their positions.
• Comparatively, it’s been well documented that 50% of employees have successful job performance results that were obtained through standard interview-only hiring practices. Such practices are among the least effective predictors of future performance.⁴
